Process

How does it work?
OVERVIEW
United Natural Foods (UNFI) is our supplier. They offer a wide array of natural and organic foods, both raw and processed, usually at very good prices. Quantities vary but are usually “cases” (4 to 12 items per case) or “bulk” (5 to 50 pounds). Part of the function of the Foothills club is to help members match “half cases” so that you don’t have to buy a whole case of something to get the good prices—though it’s always best if you can take full cases.  Please order only full cases or half cases.
We order every four weeks.
I have put some info below about ordering methods, and there’s lots more info in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) page.
ORDERING FROM FOOTHILLS / UNFI
There are two ways to order.
== 1 ==
Order directly from the UNFI website. Go to http://www.unfi.com/er and then do the following:
Select “Greenwood, IN” from the first dropdown selection.
Enter your username:  [FoothillsID + 30324] Example: NAME30324
Enter your password: provided to you in an e-mail sent from UNFI (this takes place when the Foothills Co-op Club Coordinator adds you to the UNFI online ordering website)
Once you are logged into the site you can begin searching and adding items to your basket. Just remember that the items in your basket on the day that the order is sent to UNFI will be what you order so please do not leave items in your basket that you do not intend to order.

The other way to order is to use the paper catalog to find items you want. (You can see a current catalog at the MERJ Market, which is at Big Hill. There are also (usually) copies at the Richmond and Berea libraries.)
Once you know which items you want, you go to the UNFI order web site, type in the necessary header info, enter the item numbers for the things you want, then send the order to me. The web-based order form is at:
http://www.unitedbuyingclubs.com/forms/FoodLinkOrderForm.htm
There is some admin info you’ll need to enter, which I can provide upon request.
The “header items” to use are:
*Your Name: {your name}
*Your FOODLINK Member ID: {your Foothills ID}
*Your Phone Number, with area code:   Ext:  {your phone #}
*Buying Club Name:  Foothills
*Order Collator’s Email Address:  foothills@kyfoothillscoop.com
You’ll send your order to me (the “Order Collator”) at foothills@kyfoothillscoop.com
== Other general comments ==
When perusing the catalog for items you wish to order, make sure the item is available from our warehouse (which is the Greenwood (Indiana) warehouse). If there is nothing in the “Wrhs” column, or if there is a “G”, then it is available for us.
The truck delivers our stuff sometime on a Thurs, two weeks from the beginning of the order cycle. The time of day varies, unfortunately. When it’s pick-up time, you either need to be available to meet us at the pick-up spot (currently at St. Thomas church in Richmond) or you can arrange to have your items picked up by a friend. You will need to let our pick-up coordinator, Jenny Eisenberg, know if you have arranged for someone else to pick up your items. Jenny Eisenberg’s e-mail address and phone number are listed in the pick-up e-mail you will receive on the Monday preceding the Thursday pick-up date.
Buying Club members are sometimes asked to work the truck drop to help unload and sort items, but there is currently no requirement to do so.
